Sep 20, 2002

my only exposure was that i drew blood for a complete blood count{cbc} in a pathology lab, considering my esxposure should i check for hiv, hepatitis?

Response from Dr. Dieterich

Yes, You should check for hepatitis B hepatitis C and HIV by both antibody and if you are really concerned then by PCR. If you were only drawing blood and did not stick yourself, then it should not represent a risk at all. DTD
