Hep B Core positive, everything else negative Jun 29, 2002 I was vaccinated in late 1998 and early 1999. My titers, after that, came back negative still. I received a booster. My titers were still negative. I recently went to give blood, and I was notified of Hep B Core antigen being positive. It was ran again and still positive. We ran IGA, IGG and IGM, and they were all negative. MDs are all stumped.. maybe false positive?? Still worried. Any thoughts? |

 Your antibody to HB core antigen is positive. This could indicate a previous natural HBV exposure. Often a booster vaccine would demonstrate the presence of anti-HBs in response to the vaccine. Assuming your HBs antigen is negative (this should be checked if it was not), you do not currently have chronic hepatitis B. Isolated HBV core antibody positive could also be a false positive. | ||||||||
