hepitis a
Jun 17, 2002

My brother-in-law just found out that he is dieing from hepitis a, should i be worried about my family.

Response from Dr. Fried

Hepatitis A does not cause chronic infection. It is rarely fatal except in very rare cases at the time of the acute infection. Hopefully, this is not the case. If he does have serious chronic liver disease, it is likely due to something other than hepatitis A.
