MY BOYFRIEND OF FIVE YEARS IS AN EX IV DRUG USER. HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HEPC. HE IS DOING WELL NOW BUT I AM LITTE CONFUSED ABOUT HOW HEPC IS TRANSMITTED. IF I KISS HIM WILL I GET HEPC? IF I HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH HIM WITH OUT A CONDOM WILL I GET HEPC? PLEASE GET BACK TO ME I AM VERY SCARED AND CONFUSED.

Hepatitis c is transmitted through contact with blood of an infected person. Sexual transmission can occur,although the risks are low and currently, changing sexual practices because one partner has HCV is not routinely recommended. You should get tested for HCV to put your mind at ease, consult with your boyfriend and his physician about particular risks to you.
