| this is urgent!!! Apr 25, 2002 hi! i've recently found that my dad is suffering with Hepatitis B . My dad had already taken the vaccination for Hepatitis B, 2 yrs back. So, is it still possible to get this disease? Your dad is a carrier of HBV. The negative HBeAg suggests he has inactive disease, however, more information is needed such as level of HBV DNA and level of liver enzymes. He was probably a carrier long before he had the vaccine. he should be fully evaluated by a healthcare professional familiar with HBV. | |||||||||
