| Re: Cryoglobulins Apr 16, 2002 Interesting post exchange. I would like to throw a question into the mix. If Cryo are always associated with chronic HCV why do you recommend multiple PCR's? Wouldn't an antibody test be positive 100 of the time if it was chronic? |

There are always false negative and false positive antibody tests particularly when there are high levels of immunoglobulins. I would definitely use PCR to verify the presence of the virus before recommending treatment. DTD | |||||||||
