 Absolutely! Once there is onset of liver failure, edema which is swelling of the extremities can develop rapidly. The other hallmark of liver failure is ascites which is fluid that builds up in the abdomen. Both of these can be treated easily with diuretics,but you must let your MD examine you to confirm these diagnoses. An ultrasound may be required to confirm the presence of ascites. Good luck!
