hepitious Mar 29, 2002 My siter-in-law just found out she has hepitis c she has also found out she is pregnant will the baby be ok??Also can u get hepitis fromsmoking a cigerette after someone who has HC or drinking after them?please let me know ty.She also has two girls can they get it from using tub after she is done or from the toilet? |

 There is trasmission of HCV during delivery,in around a 5% of cases.The trasmission is the same independent of the mode of delivery.The baby will need to be tested after delivery. HCV is a blood borne disease and the virus will need a lesion or open mucosa for trasmission.It is very unlikely that it may be trasmitted through the minimal contact that you describe. | ||||||||
