| need help ASAP!!!!!! Mar 14, 2002 Monday the 11th I found out I have hep c. the doctor told me nothing. My levels were high ALT {SGPT} 448, ALP{APK.P"TASE},138 LD(LDH)286,AST(SGOT)271. How serious are these levels? They are 6 months old |

The eleveated ALT and AST indicate that you have hepatitis or inflammation of the liver. The levels of these enzymes do not correlate very well with the stage of hepatitis C or the prognosis. Your doctor should fully evaluate you, possibly including liver biopsy, and make a decision with you about your suitability for treatment. | |||||||||
