Response from Dr. Fried
My first question is, Why were they being tested so frequently? Was there concern about some type of exposure? Mildly elevated ALT and AST may be non-specific or may indicate mild ongoing hepatic inflammation from a variety of causes, including non-alcoholic fatty liver disease or even chronic hepatitis B or C. The extent of work-up that will be done by your healthcare professional will depend upon other clinical circumstances. | |||||||||
