contact explaination
Feb 28, 2002

I have been reading Hep. C is contracted through "body fluids" (blood, semen, tears, saliva), although when a doctor addresses the transmission the answer always seems to go to only transmission through blood or sexual contact.

Response from Dr. Rodriguez-Torres

Hcv can be found in many fluids. This past week a report of HCV in brain cells was presented a the Retrovirus Conference!!!.Given that, the only reported infections have occurred through blood or sexual contact.
