CHEST PIMPLES
Jan 2, 2001

Hi Doctor,

Seasonal Greetings!

I'm HBV and have been having painful pimples on my chest.

These come and go but some leave scars behind. In the past year I have had about 10. I'm not on any type of medication.

I have not taken alcohol the past 4 months and my health has improved a lot. What would these red headed devils imply?

Thanks.

Chris

Response from Dr. Dieterich

Dear Chris,

Those pimples do not sound like HBV. You should see an infectious disease doctor or a dermatologist. They could be bacterial infections and could respond to antibiotics. You should be proud of yourself for stopping drinking and you should also see someone about treating your liver disease. Happy New Year! DTD
