what r the transmission methods for hepititis c and how we can treat it?
| Response from Dr. Fried
Hepatitis C (HCV) is transmitted through exposure to blood. Anyone who has ever used intravenous drugs, even once, or had a blood transfusion before 1992 is at risk. There is a small risk of acquiring HCV through sexual contact but certainly not as great a risk as hepatitis B.
Hepatitis C can be successfully treated in many patients using interferon-based medications and a drug called ribavirin. See your healthcare professional to discuss evaluation and therapy.
