| HEPATITIS C AND PREGNANCY Nov 27, 2000 COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW HEPATITIS C AND BEING PREGNANT CAN DO ANY HARM TO THE BABY. A FRIEND OF MINE I BELIEVE HAS HEPATITIS C AND HER BABY DIED AT 6 MONTHS OF PREGNANCY, COULD THE HEPATITIS C HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS. |

There appears to be very little effect of hepatitis C on pregnancy. There also appears to be a very low transmission rate to the baby in the range of 5-7%. There has been a preliminary suggestion that elective C section can reduce that even further. DTD | |||||||||
