|hepatitis in saunas
Jan 18, 2002
high! can one be infected by Hep A,B, and C (or any other type) by being in sauna area (steam, turkish bath, pool) or simply using it, if it was used, at the same time, by the possibly inftected person(s). Please respond! According to your (statistical) data, what is the rate of infetcted persons in Croatia (Europe) for Hep and HIV? Also, if you happen to know, what STIs can one be inftected with if using sauna (genitals exposed to utility for hours)? THANKS!

You can get all sorts of STD's in saunas or in bathrooms but not from the wood or toilet seats, you have to get them from someone else. Hepatitis A is transmitted fecally orally and dirty bathrooms may transmit it if you don't wash your hands. Other than that, I think the towel in the sauna should be sufficient to prevent most diseases. DTD
