Help with Hepatitis profile test and medical advise
Jun 15, 2008
Good day Doctor McGovern. I had a hepatitis profile last week for pre-employment purposes.
I recently got my result and got this. I will break it down via table format.
Test name - cut-off value - Patient Count - Result
HBsAg - 0.346 - 1.512 - Reactive
Anti-HBs - 0.336 - 0.275 - Negative
HBeAg - 0.342 - 3.184 Reactive
Anti-HBe - 0.469 - 1.137 - Negative
Anti-HBc IgG - 0.505 - 2.401 Negative
Anti-HBc IgM 0.361 - 0.153 Negative
I would like to know about the findings of the test and know what those numbers represent. And also what medical advise I could get.

Response from Dr. McGovern

I would get a HBV DNA test to see how much virus is in your blood and I would also get serial ALT testing to see if your liver function tests remain abnormal or not over time.
