dilemma on hepa B on expecting couple
Apr 13, 2008

i was vaccinated for hepa B virus during my highschool days. now, i am 32 and married with a child. after we have learned that my husband is hepa B positive and i am negative, i still got my self vaccinated again but i only got 2 shots, i failed to complete the 3 shots.right now, im 5mo pregnant and im worried if i ever got infected or not. please help me ease my worries. thanks

Response from Dr. McGovern

Hepatitis B testing is routine during pregnancy so I doubt you are infected - they would have discussed this with you already. However, you need to discuss this issue with your OB doctor at the next visit. Hopefully you have protective antibodies to your vaccine and will not have anything to worry about.
