You will know by 12 weeks what your chances are...
I usually obtain a 4 week and a 12 week viral load in my patients. The 4 week level gives me a good idea of whether the chances are very good or not. If the response is great then I can encourage my patient with this great news to keep adhering to the treatment.
The 12 week level tells me something quite different - if there is a slow viral load decline by then, then the patient's chances are poor and I usually stop treatment then.
