| Ayurvedic medicines with HIV antibody interaction before testing Aug 20, 2011 Hi Doc, It is already known and published that there is no criteria/ restriction( foods , medicines , full or empty stomach) for HIV testing and the only criteria is to get it tested . But nowadays people consume lot of ayurvedic or herbal products and medicines ( like green tea, herbal tea and many more) . Do u think that these products can in any way hamper the process of antibody formation ? Specially do you think that such things should not be consumed for 10-12 hours before testing? Or else your recommendations remains the same that there is absolutely no restrictions at all irrespective of the type of diet or medications consumed before HIV screening test? Thanx. |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi. Ayurvedic "medicines," even taken in large quantities, will not affect HIV test results (nor are they helpful in treating any illness). See link below. Dr. Bob Ayurveda (AYURVEDA, 2011) Feb 8, 2011 |
