unprotected sex during menstruation period (HIV TRANSMISSION BETWEEN TWO HIV NEGATIVES, 2011) (USE TERM "CLEAN" TO DESCRIBE HIV NEGATIVE, 2011)
Jul 21, 2011

I and my wife are clean from HIV and STDs.but one day i had unprotected sex with my wife.my question is,can i possibly infected with HIV?can HIV be created during this activity? because my semen and her menstrual blood mixed together during our sex intercourse.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello.

You are wondering if HIV can be "created" when two HIV-negative folks have unprotected sex??? WOWZA. Were you perchance home-schooled? Excuse me for asking but exactly where have you been for the past 30 years of the AIDS pandemic? No, HIV is not created by having sex, even if your semen mixed with your wife's menstrual blood. HIV is a virus. It can be transmitted from an infected person to an uninfected person via unprotected sex. See below.

Also, us of the word "clean" to describe HIV-negative individuals is inappropriate. See link below.
