| Should I have gone on PEP? Mar 26, 2011 Dear Doc, I had unprotected male on male sex four days ago. I was the receiving partner. The other guy was in me for 3-5 minutes but did not ejaculate in me. Afterwards we breifly discussed the fact we had unprotected sex he asked me if I was negative, I replied that I was and he said he was too. However, I feaked out soon after leaving as it was a random hookup I went straight to the local sexual health centre and was put on PEP. After I calmed down a bit I got back in contact with him and told him my concerns. He replied that he also freaked out a bit and that he is tested every three months (always neg) and that the last time he had unprotected sex was nine months previously with a long term partner and he has been tested since. This reassured me a lot and I am now conseidering going off PEP. I still want to get some further tests done but I am thinking PEP may be uncessary now. Do you have any advice? Jack |
