| Side effects of celibacy Mar 11, 2011 Hi Dr. Bob On Valentine's Day, my partner and I were discussing my celibate lifestyle since testing HIV positive three years ago. Are there any significant health risks for those of us who have given up "the deed" completely, in exchange for occasional masturbation? I'm 44, my testosterone levels are A-okay and I get plenty of cardio in other ways. Thanks. ps- I hope you enjoyed your much needed vacation |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, No, there are no significant health risks associated with celibacy and/or masturbation. Personally it would drive me completely insane, but that's just me. It also hasn't worked so well for loads of Catholic priests, but that's another story. The vacation was excellent. Be well. Dr. Bob |
