| Skin Bruising Jun 19, 2009 I have noticed that my skin bruises fairly easy these days. It can be a playful knock on the shoulder from a friend to extended periods of resting my elbows on my legs. Currently my Viral Load is undetectable, CD4 is @ 301 & 30%. I started taking meds for the first time about 2 years ago & have only ever been on Atripla. I was diagnosed in March of 2004, & greatfully clean & sober from crystal meth since Nov. 21, 2003. What am I able to do to try to improve this situation either dietary or otherwise? |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, Diet is not the answer to this problem. Your HIV doctor needs to evaluate your easy bruisability. First off he'll need to check your platelet count as well as other laboratory tests to ascertain the cause of your problem. Once the cause is known, specific treatment can be instituted. Good luck. Congratulations on your 5.5 years of sobriety. Dr. Bob |
