|My roommate has a T Cell count of 17
May 18, 2009
My roommate's T Cell count went from 48 to 17 in just a months time. The doctors haven't place him on any Meds yet and it will be a month or longer before it happens, since he just found out. He has a habit of keeping how sick, he really is, from me. I'm trying not to worry yet my best friend isn't getting better. I'm so afraid that I'm going to get him sick. Also his viral load is 150,000. Will he be ok?
Response from Dr. Frascino
Why haven't your roommate's physicians begun him on treatment yet? It's clearly indicated. He should also be on prophylactic medication to help prevent certain opportunistic infections. I would encourage your roomie to move his appointment up and get started on treatment without delay.
How long will my daughter hurt and feel sick?
