Dear Dr. Frascino,
It has now been exactly on year since my HIV diagnosis. In a manic quest for information I luckily discovered The Body site along with your forum just days after my diagnosis.
Dr. Frascino, words cannot adequately express my heartfelt gratitude and support I have received from glancing at your happy-joyful vibe pic while meticiously reading your expert advice and insight regarding your own "magnetic" relationship - especially that!
Everytime after reading newly posted answers I always feel uplifted. I also leave with the underlying message that I am not alone and my life is not over just because I am virally enhanced.
Many changes have taken place in my life over this past year. Most all have been for the better - dramaticly improving my mental, physical and spiritual health, starting graduate school, new friendships, new job and especially in March meeting my life partner! (We are too a magnetic couple).
Dr. Frascino, thanks again, your efforts have supported and comforted me but most of all inspired me to enjoy living, laughing and most of all loving.
P.S. Charles and I are planning to marry sometime in late 2009!
Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello Jonathan (and Charles),
First of all, congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding. BRAVO! Steve and I are planning our event as well, the details of which continue to be a closely guarded secret. Jonathan, thank you for taking the time to write in and to share your personal story. I'm confident it will help countless others who are feeling lost, scared and hopeless after receiving their HIV diagnosis. Your testimonial about being able to live, laugh and love, despite being HIV positive is an inspirational message.
Jonathan, I also very much appreciated your extremely kind comments. Steve and I are sending you and Charles our very best good-luck/good-health karma from Mexico City, where we are currently attending the International AIDS Conference. We'll toast your good health tonight over dinner (with margaritas, of course).
