|Americans can't get HIV drugs?
May 5, 2007
I just heard on talk radio that some Americans can't get HIV drugs even when they really need them. That can't be true is it? If so it's shameful!

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello Used to be Bush supporter, but not any more-guy,
Yes, it is both shameful and true. Despite billions being wasted in Iraq, the number of HIV-positive Americans who have no access to life-sustaining antiretroviral drugs continues to grow. Nearly 600 HIVers in Alaska, Montana, Puerto Rico and South Carolina are waiting to receive antiretroviral drugs through their states' or territories' AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAP). For the richest country in the world to treat its citizens this way is shocking, immoral and completely indefensible. Demand change!
