|What about warts?
Aug 30, 2005
Aside from HIV, I also battle genital and anal warts. My doctor is aware of this and she prescribes Condilox, with which I remove them as soon as I notice them. However I'm concerned about warts inside the anus. I read that they go away with time. However, sometimes, when I'm being receptive during anal intercourse with my partner, it can be a tad uncomfortable because of some warts that I think are a bit overgrown. What sould I do in this case?
Response from Dr. Frascino
Yes, anal warts can indeed be a pain in the ass. Internal warts should be evaluated and treated aggressively by a surgeon. I would not advise waiting for them to spontaneously resolve, as this is unlikely to ever happen. There is also a risk HPV (human papilloma virus), the virus that causes genital warts, can cause anal cancer. Don't delay; get treated now.
