I was wondering if the following things could be symptoms of anemia:
hair loss, numbness in upper leg (thigh area), sharp, insatiable hunger despite having eaten a full meal about an hour earlier, restlessness (especially in the legs), sleeplessness, and constant headaches
These are over and above tiredness and inertia.
Response from Dr. Frascino
Nope, anemia can cause lots of symptoms, but it is not really noted to be a cause of most of the symptoms you list. Yes, it can cause fatigue, headaches, and a host of other symptoms. The test for anemia is a very simple blood test. If you are worried, see your doctor. There's no need to try to second guess a condition like anemia, based solely on symptoms.
steroids as proactive treatment?
