I just tested + for HIV, my t-cell count is 87. How do I go about finding the best doctor who can help me??
Response from Dr. Frascino
Sorry to hear about your recent test. Im glad you are searching for a qualified HIV specialist. Working closely with a competent and compassionate HIV/AIDS specialist is essential. Certainly with your low CD4 counts, you need an evaluation and treatment as quickly as possible, as you are at considerable risk for developing an opportunistic infection. I dont know where you live, but if you are writing from The United States, try contacting The American Academy of HIV Medicine (www.aahivm.org) to find a qualified specialist in your area.
