Prostate/aids
Nov 18, 2002

Can someone who has had prostaste cancer and cannot ejaculate now since his operation infect someone if he has AIDS? We have anal, regualr and oral sex but he does not cum and I rather not use a condom. Judy D.

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hello Judy D,

Not ejaculating due to prostate cancer or just "pulling out before the moment of no return" may decrease the risk of transmitting HIV, but certainly does not eliminate it. Almost everyone would "rather not use a condom," but not doing so is placing yourself at considerable risk.

Dr. Bob
