| pre-cum Apr 1, 2002 I have a question. I read that pre-cum contains hiv, but in a studi I read conducted at my school (Columbia University), I understand that pre cum has not been proven to be a sole transmitter in hiv. Is this true? |

Response from Dr. Frascino
Hi, Yep, that's our current understanding. There is virus in pre-ejaculate fluid, but it has not been proven to be a sole transmitter of HIV infection. Of course, you can imagine how difficult it would actually be to conduct a clinical trial trying to prove or disprove this hypothesis. Can't you see the enrollment brochures? "Help science. Sign up now for oral sex study!" Stay well. Study hard. Dr. Bob |
