Is it safe to use Rogaine with medicines???
May 13, 2003
Hi Dr. Bob,
Since you are a knowledgable expert in the HIV field, i hope you can offer some opinions if it is safe to combine rogaine with the use of medicines? I would like to take rogaine as a preventive measure to prevent a receeding hairline. Also would you know if rogaine has any side effects, like sexual dysfunction or is it safe? Thanks i value your input!

Response from Dr. Frascino

Hey Ken,
Yes, Rogaine is quite safe. So safe in fact that its now available over the counter (without a prescription). There are no drug interactions with HIV meds or significant side effects. So relax. You dont have to worry about looking like a cue ball, although that look is quite fashionable lately. By the way, you do realize the Rogaine goes on your head and not in your mouth, dont you? Just follow the instructions on the box and youll look like Wolfman Jack in no time. Stay well.
Dr. Bob
