| Butt cushioning importance? Jul 17, 2011 If a person can't afford butt implants, but still wants to protect the butt bones, would the SitRelief Shorts mentioned in th July HIV-Plus magazine be an affordabale option? They fill out the pants while cushioning the bones. Can the butt bones be bruised? |

Response from Dr. Pierone
One approach to make sitting more comfortable for people with buttock lipoatrophy is to use a buttock cushioning device like Sit Relief shorts. There are a wide variety of companies offering padded shorts that provide protection of the sitting bones of the buttocks (ischial tuberosities). Many are designed for to enhance comfort as well as improve the aesthetic appearance of the buttocks. Bubbles bodywear is another example of padded briefs for both men and women. I hope this information helps and best of luck! | |||||||||
