Medicaid coverage for Facial Wasting Sep 27, 2010 If treatment for facial wasting is suppose to now be covered by Medicaid why does my Doctor, Dermatologist, or Plastic Surgeon say they know nothing about it????? |

 Hello and thanks for posting. I am sorry to share this news, but HIV-related facial lipoatrophy treatment is now covered by Medicare, but not Medicaid. Medicaid has less funding and many of these programs are in financial crisis. Also, Medicaid is administered by individual State rules and benefits vary depending on one's locale. But no State Medicaid program offers coverage for facial lipoatrophy to my knowledge. | ||||||||
