| medicare and facial fillers Dec 1, 2009 What is the latest on medicare and facial fillers? Will they now consider covering the costs of some of them? I have had sculptra treatments three years ago through the patient assitance program but now I need a touch up and certainly can't afford it alone now that the PAP seems to have disappeared. Terry |

Response from Dr. Pierone
The latest on Medicare and facial fillers is that we are still waiting for an answer. The patient assistance program for Sculptra has not disappeared, but the rules are more stringent. For patient who need more Sculptra after the initial allotment of 12 vials, we have to submit a letter asking for an exception along with before and after photos. We have been successful in obtaining additional product for our patients by going through this process. However, it is an additional administrative burden that some practices may not be interested in pursuing. Good luck! | |||||||||
