Response from Dr. Henry

The stavudine in Triomune can sometimes aggravate fat loss and sometimes fat gain in areas that cosmetically and functionally are upsetting to patients. If available a switch off the Triomune to a regimen using a non-thymidine nucleoside (such as tenofovir or abacavir) can stabilize and sometimes reverse the fat distribution problem. Exercise and diet can help in some patients. KH
