Bullfrog Neck and Chipmunk Cheeks
Jul 27, 2008

I live in England , had HIV since 1985 and full Aids (CD under 200 in 1998) i have had buffalo hump that was dealt with surgery. However no one here seems to know how they can help me with banishing Chipmunk Cheeks and Bullfrog Neck from my face, which causes me great distress. Can you advise me , so i may inform my doctor.I was told that any surgery for those conditions could cause nerve lost and make my face look paralysed.

   Response from Dr. Pierone

I am sorry to hear about your predicament.

Chipmunk cheeks and bullfrog neck may be due to parotid enlargement, abnormal fat deposition in the neck, or both. Parotid enlargement can be managed by low dose radiation therapy. Abnormal fat deposition, to some extent, may be amenable to us assisted liposuction.

Good luck!
