|Indirect Transfer of Body Fluid.. How Much at Risk?
Apr 25, 2000
Dear Dr. Remien:
Thank you so much for this forum. Here's my question.... recently I shared a brief encounter with a stripper while inside a club. I touched her vaginal area with one finger... no penetration ... but there was contact with fluid. I had no cuts or sores on the finger. However, about 10-15 minutes later, while driving home, I inadvertently put that finger into my mouth. While the fluid had obviously dried, I could taste its presence. How much risk for acquiring HIV exists should she be positive??
I am really anxious about this. I am married and fear that I am putting my wife at risk. But after three and one-half weeks, I also fear its too late to turn back now and I must try to put it out of my mind. I would appreciate your response.
