| Can she still be negative? Feb 1, 2004 Me and my girlfriend have been together for a year now and I tested positive 6months ago. We have never used protection and have sex twice a day. How likely is she to be still negative? |

Response from Dr. Remien
It is possible that she can still be HIV-negative, just as it is possible that she could have been infected. Transmission of HIV is dependent on many factors, and you will not know until she is tested. So she needs to be tested, with repeat tests down the road. In the meantime, use protection. Good luck. |
