I want to know is it possible for an hiv+ person have a child with hiv- person, without transmitting hiv to child nor mother ? or can two hiv+ parents have a hiv- child ? what is sperm washing ?

Response from Dr. Remien

Yes, it is certainly possible for an HIV+ man to have a child with an HIV- woman and not transmit the virus to the mother or the baby. However, it is also possible for the virus to be transmitted to both. Similarly, it is possible for two HIV+ people to have a child that is not infected, but they also could give birth to an HIV+ baby. There are several things that can be done to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV, particularly to an unborn baby. These things should be discussed with a health care provider. Please do so if you are seriously considering having a baby with someone.

And again, this is something that you should talk about with a qualified health care provider.
