		herpes and hiv May 31, 2001 if a persons has herpes, does that necesarily means they have HIV?


		Response from Dr. Jackson Having a herpes infection does not mean you are HIV infected. In fact most people infected with herpes are not HIV infected. However, studies have shown that people with herpes have a higher risk of being HIV infected since both viruses are sexually transmitted. BJ
