|AIDS ORPHANS IN KENYA- EFFECTS ON THEIR NUTRITIONAL NEEDS
Apr 22, 2001
I work for an international non-profit based in Kenya. We work with hundreds of AIDS orphans and are concerned about their nutritional needs as the disease spreads to them. They are weakened by the fact they are orphans. Can you suggest books, brochures that can help us in dealing with this issue?

There are a couple of web sites that should provide materials helpful for you. The National Pediatric HIV Resource Center (www.pedhivaids.org), an informational site for health care providers, has a Nutrition and Pediatric HIV Reference List that covers many aspects of nutrition in HIV-infected children. The Francois-Xavier Bagnoud International Pediatric HIV Program Site (www.fxbcenter.org) has very practial information for dealing with nutritional issues in HIV-infected children.
You might also wish to check out the HIV and Nutrition Forum on this web site for further information.
