		thrush Sep 17, 2001 Is it common to see thrush in hiv-infected infants outside of the mouth (ie. in groin, under arms and between toes)as a first sign of hiv?.


		Response from Dr. Luzuriaga Fungal infections, particularly at multiple sites (mouth and groin are most common), can be a presenting sign of HIV infection. However, thrush alone is not diagnostic since HIV uninfected infants or infants with other types of congenital immunodeficiencies can present with thrush.
