Lymph nodes- Can you catch something without getting sick from it?
Apr 5, 2003

Is is possible/typical for someone to catch something but not actually get sick from it? Basically, can someone catch something like a cold, have their lymph nodes get swollen fighting off the cold, and then not experience any of the symptoms of the cold such as coughing, sniffles, etc?

Response from Dr. Dezube

The answer to your question is an emphatic YES. People often catch viruses from other people without getting the same symptoms as the person who they got it from. Different folks react differently to different viruses.
