How long before I don't have to worry about recurrence
Mar 2, 2001

Dr. How long does one have to be out of Lymphoma without recurrence before you don't have to worry about it? Is it less likely to recur the longer out of chemo you go?

Response from Dr. Dezube

Most recurrences happen within the first two years. That said, it is possible to get a recurrence later on. Recurrences, however, are indeed less common the longer you get out from your chemotherapy. To help prevent recurrences, it is very important that you remain on highly active anti-retroviral therapy. BD.
