diet and cancer; does sugar stop your immune system Sep 5, 2002 I saw on TV where a Californian surgeon had breast cancer (with the tumor bulging out of her chest). She would not go on chemotherapy because she said that she saw too many patients die. She changed her diet and now is cancer free. fresh veggies and fruit juices. She also said that out body uses 10 glasses of water a day and if we do not put it back our cells will be sick. she said that sugar stops your immune system from working 5 hours after eating sugar. do you agree with this info? |

 Although I certainly believe that one's immune system can have an impact on one's cancer, I simply do not find the story which you described as believable. Although I can certainly be accused of being a conservative doc, I do my best to be open-minded and non-judgmental. That said, I would not recommend the approach outlined above to any of my patients. |
