Testicular cancer? what's the next step?
Jul 6, 2003

I'm 17 and I've found a very small (no more than 1mm in any dimension) lump on the front (slightly displaced to one side) of my right testicle. It's very hard to locate, so maybe I always had it..I'm not sure.

It is really very small, and quite hard and I'm not sure exactly what it is although I am worried that it may be cancer.

Response from Dr. Dezube

It is not unusual for a guy to feel from time to time such a small lump/bump. Most often there is nothing there. On occasion, however, a lump, particularly a firm one, can indeed be cancer. The first step would be for you to see a health care provider. The best test to assess the lump would be a testicular ultrasound. It would be good for you to have your lump/bump checked out for your peace of mind.
