What can a HIV positive do to prevent death

Response from Mr. Vergel

These are basic things you can do to improve the quantity and quality of your life:

1- Take your HIV regimen daily as prescribed and ensure your HIV viral load is undetectable.

2- Get good sleep every night.

3- Make sure that your LDL and HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure and kidney/liver functions are within normal ranges.

4- Eat a balanced diet with protein, fiber and good fats.

5- Walk for 30 min or more a day. Avoid sitting for more than 2 hours at a time.

6- Get a good support group and socialize with people who bring good things in your life.

7- Have a good relationship with your doctor and treat him/her and his/her support staff well.

8- Do not allow depression to take over your life. Seek counseling and/or treatment if needed.

9- Try to do something you love at least once per day. Volunteer to help others less fortunate than you.

Try to do one chance at a time. Good luck and stay positive!
