|HIv and Dissementated Coccidiodmycosis
Aug 2, 2013
I have had HIV since 2002. In December 2010, I was diagnosed with Disseminated Coccidiodmycosis. I am more worried about the Cocci, as i believe this may be the end of me. I take two dosses of Voriconazole a day in addition to 4 other HIV meds. I am very afraid of liver failure and I am ashamed of my wasting, arms/legs/ass. I have good CD$ counts, about 450 and am. How much time do you think I have left for this world? I am scared all the time, What do yuo think?

Situation varies greatly from person to person but many HIV+ patients doing OK on HIV treatment who develop coccidiomycosis can be managed effective and survive long term (decades). Desseminated cocci (valley fever in one term for that condition common in southwest USA) can be a challenge to treast/cure even in some HIV negative patients so can be very frustrating. KH
