| sexual desire and testosterone replacement Apr 30, 2012 Hi Nelson, Thanks for all your great answers which I love! Please could I ask a question? Would you say that the effect of testosterone taken in presumably a synthetic form, would have the same libido enhancing effect as if you were lucky enough to be producing it naturally? Does the desire in other words feel the same, and natural? Would you recomend any systems as more effective in this regard? Thanks ever so much.Take Care! |

Response from Mr. Vergel
Interesting question! The effect of testosterone that you inject (or rub on your skin as a gel) when your testosterone blood levels are low should "feel" the same as if you were making that testosterone from your own testicles. However, when we use testosterone products to supplement low testosterone, our hypothalamus-pituitary-testicular hormonal axis (HPTA) pretty much shuts down, which decreases the production of other hormones (LH and FSH). No one has done a long term study to determine if this HPTA shut down means anything long term. Do nil levels of LH and FSH affect the way we feel? Hopefully, more data will be available as more studies on testosterone are done. Testosterone Research Studies Currently Looking for Patients Nelson Vergel | |||||||||
